SEEdesign Bulletin Issue 3 released!

Issue 3 of the SEEdesign Bulletin is now available.

Focusing initially on the International Workshop on Design Support – IWDS 2006, this issue features a report on the opening address to the conference, given by Sir George Cox (UK), as well as articles from three of the IWDS speakers: Jean Schneider, Professor John Boult and Dr Bruce Tether. There are interviews with two of the other speakers, Fred Pedersen (Norway) and Taewan Kim (Korea), in which they share their views on the practice of design support in their own country. Finally, the ‘design support in practice’ section presents two distinct experiences on design support: a short-term scheme that took place in the UK and a long-term programme from the Czech Republic.

The SEEdesign Bulletin is the only periodical publication dedicated to the discussion of issues related to design support, promotion programmes and design policies worldwide. Every six months the SEEdesign partners publish and distribute a new issue including articles, interviews, case studies and news relevant to practitioners and researchers on this area. In some countries, the Bulletin’s articles have been translated to allow access to more readers.

The number of copies printed has risen to 1,200 for this September 2006 issue. Copies have been sent to the partners, who distribute it locally but also to a mailing list of around 700 people in 53 different countries.

The SEEdesign Bulletin is available for download from the SEEdesign website, where you can also register to receive future editions (contact info@seedesign.org). This publication is distributed for free, in line with the SEEdesign project’s aim to facilitate the dissemination of experience and knowledge about design support for SMEs.

We hope you will enjoy your reading!
